Energy Project Development

Our practical approach to energy utilization and power generation system development comes from our experiences in the energy industry with a focus on optimization; no waste. We identify and select equipment that is ideal for the application conditions and will provide the most beneficial cost/benefit outcome for end users. Activities in the concept evaluation are chosen to address the power facility development conditions. Our knowledge in this space can be applied to all markets that consume CO2, heat, and electricity.

Our methods for the optimal use of fossil fuels:

Associated fuel gas processing equipment

Stable energy generation requires secure and balanced fuel delivery. For over 15 years, we have interacted with complex fuel gas processing and delivery systems every day in the field. This is a focus point for every project we review and develop to avoid costly downtime in the future.

Heat Medium

Waste heat sources are converted to hot water, low-pressure steam, hot glycol or oil and circulated to points in the system where the heat can be utilized.

Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC)

Recover heat from a range of temperature sources and convert it to electricity using our proprietary systems which use an organic working fluid in a low-pressure environment.

Absorption Cooling

Recover heat and convert it into useful cooling for high-capacity HVAC systems that can be used in applications such as vertical farming and complex data centers.

Combined heat and power (CHP)

Our systems generate electricity and thermal energy by capturing heat from the natural gas engine or turbine that would otherwise be wasted. The thermal energy is utilized through heat medium, Organic Rankine Cycle, or absorption cooling.

Trigeneration

By adding a fertilizer grade selective catalyst reduction (SCR) system, we can sequester CO2 for use in vertical farming and provide the stable electricity and heat needed to produce food. The combination of these energy forms will result in an efficient energy system that is good for business and the environment.

Stand-By/Peak Shaving paired with renewable energy sources

The fast response and reliability provided by proven natural gas engines and turbines add resiliency to renewable energy systems with low availability. The cost to build solar and wind energy systems are high and the delivery system usage is low. By adding high-efficiency natural gas power, the system utilization increases which results in a better business case for all stakeholders. Please contact us for a copy of our White Paper.
